Hello Reader, Next week I start my 8th Capitol Route from Santa Fe, NM to Denver, CO. I am so excited about this route - mainly because this gives me an opportunity to show off my home state. I will be slowly riding the 420 miles through the most scenic parts of Colorado including the San Luis Valley, Great Sand Dunes National Park, Leadville, Lake Dillon, up and over Loveland Pass (12,000 ft), and down through Idaho Springs into Denver on my beloved Denver bike trails. I am also equally freaked out by this route - it's going to be in altitude the entire time with lots of mountain passes. I have no idea if I have the stamina to do this...but I'm going to try. Challenging yourself to be a little uncomfortable is okay and necessary. It will make you learn, grow and keep you moving forward. I specifically chose this longer, harder route to show off Colorado mountain towns and sites - so I really hope you'll follow along on my social media stories starting next week. If you are in Colorado...feel free to join me or cheer me on in person! Just reply to this email and let me know where you'll be! Where to Travel in the FallI love the Fall season - and it's quickly approaching. Kids are back at school and the crowds thin out a bit. Some of my favorite places to visit in the fall are in the US. Colorado Rocky Mountains (in September), Alaska (in September), Maine, and Minnesota top my list. However, other international stops like BC, Canada (Sep/Oct), Nepal (in October), Japan (in Oct/Nov), and Ireland (Oct) are also high on my list when it comes to experiencing fall colors and temps. Get ideas from some of these past articles I've written: Chasing Fall in Alaska from North to South What's NextAfter I complete biking through Colorado, I will be taking off for Asia for the month of September! I have a short time in Bangkok, a tour I'm leading in Bhutan, and then a few extra days in Japan for future tour research! Much more about that next time! Happy Travels! Travel Insurance ClaimsI frequently get asked about travel insurance, and I always recommend Allianz Travel Insurance. I have used the Allianz Annual Insurance plan for years and love it. But people often want to know what filing a claim with Allianz is like. After all of these years of travel, I finally had to file a travel insurance claim from my spring trip to Ireland. I did everything through the Allyz Travel Smart App, from calling customer service to determine a medical facility to visit to filing the claim and adding all of my receipts. The longest part of the process was having to claim it with my regular medical insurance first and waiting to get denied. Once denied, the Allianz part was smooth as butter—with the Allyz Travel Smart App—and I could enjoy the rest of my vacation! Hello Reader, This is it...the year is winding down...and so am I along with it. There are things I love about my career (it truly is the best), and there are things I struggle with and wish to change. One of those things is vacation. I rarely take a real vacation - one that doesn't involve work (writing, social media sharing, photography, leading tours), one that is just for me. That's the downside of being a travel blogger/content creator I suppose. But for the remainder of the year - I'm...

Hello Reader, Ugh—I sort of hated typing that subject line and putting the words grateful and black Friday in the same sentence. Sorry. However, there is room to hold both inside of me, which is why I decided to leave the subject line and send this email. I'm getting ready to hop on a plane on the busiest travel day in the US to spend a few days with family in South Dakota. I'm going to take the advice that I provided recently on a local radio show and go to the airport early. I will be...
